Bitcoin October return at -0.11%, far below average as YTD falls 6.6%

Bitcoin has turned lower on a weekly basis, while its monthly, quarterly and year-to-date performance remains below historical averages. As of Oct. 13, bitcoin was in week 41 of 2026 with a weekly return of -0.15%. After gaining 5.6% in week 37 and 4.04% in week 38, bitcoin extended the advance with a 2.43% gain in week 39. It then turned lower in week 40 with a -3.13% return, with weakness continuing in week 41 at -0.15%. On a daily basis, bitcoin was up 2.1% so far on Oct. 13. Recent daily returns were +1.13% on Oct.
