20-Year-Old US World Champion Declares No Rest While Facing No. 1 Wrestler in College Debut

Most athletes would welcome a little breathing room after conquering the world. Bo Bassett, however, has no plans to slow down. Fresh off winning the senior freestyle world title, the 20-year-old is heading straight into his first official college wrestling test at Virginia Tech, where the challenge waiting for him is none other than the nation’s No. 1 wrestler, Luke Stanich. Bassett is expected to return to Blacksburg around 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to his conversation with Baschamania. There will be little time to recover or celebrate.
