Aberdeen 0-1 St Johnstone: Makeshift Perth side swap style for steel to claim first away win of the season

For all the style that has won them plenty of plaudits this season, it was a different kind of performance that earned St Johnstone all three points at Pittodrie today. Despite having a makeshift defence that included just one centre-half, they showed character, industry and togetherness to claim their first away win of the season. It was also their first clean sheet of the campaign as Dan Finlayson, partnered in a back three by full-backs Liam Smith and Matty Foulds, protected Josh Fowler’s early goal from the penalty spot.
