‘Amazing' SF women's sports bar erupts as Valkyries claim first title

As Halloween revelers spilled into San Francisco's streets Saturday night, Rikki's bar in the Castro was a snapshot of history in the making. More than 100 fans packed the woman's sport's bar wearing purple jerseys, spooky attire, or even a combination of both, to witness the Golden State Valkyries secure a championship title after their historic season. In only their second season ever, the Valkyries earned the title after a winner-take-all Game 7 against the Atlanta Dream, drawing new fans, longtime fans and out-of-town spectators to the San Francisco bar.
