Anthony Black, Magic Unlikely To Agree To Extension By Deadline

Anthony Black and the Orlando Magic are not expected to reach agreement on a contract extension before the October 19th deadline. The two sides have not yet engaged in serious extension talks either during the offseason or since training camps have begun. The Magic have Desmond Bane, Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero on long-term contracts at high numbers, which complicates their salary cap outlook. Jeff Weltman decided to run back the core of their roster after.a disappointing 2025-26 season, but replaced Jamahl Mosley with Sean Sweeney as head coach.
