Anthony Evans III on pace to crush Mississippi State WR records, just like he predicted

STARKVILLE — Anthony Evans III stood at the podium during a preseason Mississippi State football news conference and stated twice that he intended to break the program record for single-season receiving yards. They weren't tongue-in-cheek comments. It was a realistic goal after he broke out for 831 receiving yards last season after transferring from Georgia. Now five games into the season — with No. 19 Mississippi State (4-1, 2-1 SEC) playing at No. 21 LSU (4-2, 1-2) on Oct. 17 (11 a.m. CT, ESPN) — Evans isn't on pace just to break the record set by Brenen Thompson last season.
