ATP Finals Race: Can Taylor Fritz Make One Last Push in Paris?

A shock 7-6(5), 6-3 semifinal loss to Valentin Vacherot in Basel has left Taylor Fritz down at 12th in the ATP Race, leaving Paris Bercy as his absolute last shot at Turin. He entered Basel as the 6th seed and was the highest-ranked player remaining in the draw by the weekend. Winning the title would have put him in a position to qualify for the Finals. But that loss has clearly ended that. He’s now in a precarious position heading into the Rolex Paris Masters, the final Masters 1000 of the regular season.
