Auburn basketball injury update: Steven Pearl shares latest on Owen Freeman

BIRMINGHAM — A day before its first exhibition contest, and less than a month before its 2026-27 season tips off, Auburn basketball is trying to get one of its most-coveted transfer portal additions fully healthy. Owen Freeman , a forward who transferred from Creighton to Auburn this offseason, is "progressing nicely" from a foot injury that has limited him throughout the offseason, head coach Steven Pearl said Tuesday, Oct. 13, at SEC Tipoff. "Yesterday, or the day before, he had a 45-minute workout on the floor," Pearl said of Freeman. "His legs looked good. He was bouncy.
