“Bang average” Ally McCoist reveals how Arsenal beat Lille

Lille deserve considerable credit for their performance against Arsenal, as the Ligue 1 side held firm for around an hour before Mikel Arteta's substitutes came on and changed the game. This is the second consecutive match in which Arsenal have relied on their bench to overcome a difficult opponent. Lille proved to be a tough team to break down, showing resilience and organisation throughout the contest. It was only Arsenal's second match since the international break, and the team may need more time to regain their rhythm and start dominating games from the opening whistle.
