Reported by Yahoo Sports

Mohammed Ben Sulayem went to Kigali on Tuesday to help announce Formula 1's return to Africa, and he left having also set a launch date for an engine whose rules haven't been written yet. On stage with Rwandan president Paul Kagame and Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, the FIA president said the sport's next-generation V8 would arrive in 2030, and that Rwanda's new circuit would run it at its first race. It made for a good photo. It also ties two unfinished things together: an engine with a target year and a racetrack with no confirmed year at all.
