BYU vs. Notre Dame: Bear Bachmeier is Catholic, but Notre Dame wasn’t his favorite team growing up

BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier was raised in the Catholic faith , and his grandfather was a "diehard Notre Dame fan" who would have loved to have seen his grandsons play for the Irish. The Cougars' sophomore QB said Monday that he was actually a Boise State fan, because his brother, Hank Bachmeier , played for the Broncos from 2019 through September 2022. Hank Bachmeier, who named his first-born son Bronco, also played for Louisiana Tech and Wake Forest.
