Chiefs HC Andy Reid seals Harrison Butker’s fate for Week 9 after latest field goal fail

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed Harrison Butker’s Week 9 status Wednesday as questions continued about the team’s kicking situation. Butker pushed a 54-yard field-goal attempt wide right with 2:36 remaining in Sunday’s 28-24 loss to the Denver Broncos, who scored the winning touchdown two plays later. The miss came four days after the Chiefs signed Justin Tucker to their practice squad, and Kansas City suffered its second straight defeat after a 5-0 start. ESPN’s Nate Taylor shared Reid’s assessment of the Chiefs’ kicking situation Wednesday on X, formerly Twitter, as Kansas City prepares to host the Jets.
