Documentary “Still I Rise” premieres detailing former Pirate baseball player’s story of resilience and inspiration

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) -- Minges Coliseum was the site for the premiere of the documentary "Still I Rise", depicting former ECU baseball player Parker Byrd's road to recovery. A boating accident in 2022 resulted in Byrd losing his right leg, with the documentary showing some of his toughest moments adjusting to being an amputee. "At the moment in the hospital room where basically I was pretty down, and my mom looked at me and said 'why are you sad?'," Byrd said.
