Ex-Man Utd star who wants Old Trafford return gives Michael Carrick sack verdict

Ex-Manchester United star Antonio Valencia has urged the Red Devils to stick with Michael Carrick despite their miserable start to the season. Carrick, who took the reins on a permanent basis in the summer, has won just one of his opening six league games this term. That has left United sitting 13th in the Premier League , with their form markedly different to the run which convinced the Old Trafford hierarchy to extend Carrick's stay in the dugout. Despite the pressure continuing to rise on Carrick, former United teammate Valencia believes he will eventually be a success.
