Florida football makes final decision on Vernell Brown III’s status for Georgia clash

Florida football will be without sophomore wide receiver Vernell Brown III when the No. 17 Gators face No. 3 Georgia in Saturday’s rivalry matchup. Brown spent much of the week appearing close to a return after missing three straight games with a knee injury. Florida initially listed him as probable, but his status became less certain after he was downgraded to questionable Friday. The Gators made their final call Saturday afternoon, ending any possibility of Brown returning against the Bulldogs. ESPN’s Pete Thamel relayed the decision on X, formerly Twitter, after Brown had been limited during Florida’s Friday workout.
