Former Newcastle United cult hero sent off for grabbing his crotch at opponent

Former Newcastle United forward Allan Saint-Maximin was handed a bizarre red card after appearing to grab his crotch in the direction of an opponent. The Frenchman was given his marching orders late on during Charlotte FC's win over Orlando City. The 29-year-old was sent off in the closing stages following an intervention from the video assistant referee where Saint-Maximin appeared to make the gesture towards Wilder Cartenga after an exchange with the Orlando player. Charlotte were heading towards an impressive win, at the time of the incident, after taking a 3-0 lead, with the forward on target.
