Girona earns a point in Tenerife

Girona returned from the Canary Islands with a draw that leaves a bittersweet taste. The red-and-whites took an early lead but were unable to maintain their advantage against a Tenerife side that reacted and ended up equalizing the match. Yáser Asprilla opened the scoring in the 4th minute, taking advantage of a defensive lapse by the home team. The start suggested a good night for Girona, but Tenerife gradually gained ground and found their reward in the 25th minute. Nacho Gil delivered a fine cross, and Enric Gallego headed in to make it 1-1.
