Batavia, NY — The featured race at Batavia Downs on Monday (Oct. 12) was the $13,500 Open Handicapped pace for fillies and mares and for the second time in as many starts, Granny’s Watching ( He’s Watching ) won with a solid harness racing performance. Granny’s Watching (Shawn McDonough) went right to the front and set quarters of :28.1, :58.2 and 1:27.1, before seeing a challenge of any kind. And that challenge came from Utopia Blue Chip (Dale Spence), who paced alongside the leader from three-quarters and around the last turn.
