Jesus de Miguel dead at 30: Tenerife star dies after colliding with keeper as club say ‘there are no words of comfort’

TENERIFE striker Jesus de Miguel has died after a sickening collision against FC Andorra put him in intensive care. The 30-year-old was struck with a heavy blow to the head and chest area while contending for a 50-50 with Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Owono. Some players were in tears and others were visibly distressed as De Miguel lay motionless on the pitch. Owono was shown a straight red card before the Segunda Division clash was abandoned in the seventh minute of stoppage time with the score at 2-2.
