Man United 'hit back' at stunning claim about private Michael Carrick chat

Manchester United are unhappy with Nicky Butt after he revealed details of a private conversation with Michael Carrick, in which the United head coach is said to have admitted he was unsure about continuing in football management. Carrick was appointed as Ruben Amorim's interim successor in January before being handed the permanent role at Old Trafford ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 45-year-old guided United to a third-place finish in the Premier League during the second half of last season, earning himself a two-year contract in the process.
