Manchester United make immediate decision on Michael Carrick’s future after Chelsea defeat

Michael Carrick is expected to be in the Manchester United dugout on Tuesday night against Roma, talkSPORT understands. United were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea on Saturday afternoon and went down to ten man when Lisandro Martinez was sent off . The Red Devils are highly unlikely to make a head coach change until the upcoming international break at the earliest, even though the hierarchy held summit talks. Senior boardroom figures are still hoping Carrick can turn around the club’s worst start to a season since the 1986/87 campaign.
