New Mexico United Shuts Out Phoenix Rising, Advances to Western Conference Semifinals

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A lengthy weather delay couldn't keep New Mexico United from making a statement in the postseason. After waiting through an hour-and-a-half rain delay, United defeated Phoenix Rising 2-0 in the Western Conference quarterfinals Saturday night at The Lab, advancing to the conference semifinals for the fourth time in club history. Greg Hurst opened the scoring early, and Jake LaVakas added a second-half goal as United held Phoenix scoreless to secure the win. Hurst strikes early for United United wasted little time getting on the scoreboard.
