Newcastle are playing like a relegation team and Matthias Jaissle is in danger of the sack

Newcastle United are freefalling into a relegation battle and it’s not clear what Matthias Jaissle is trying to do with the team. This is the view of former Premier League striker Dean Ashton, who suggested the Magpies will spend their season looking down rather than up. It’s four defeats in five in all competitions for Newcastle , who suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Everton on Monday night. Thierno Barry’s goal early in the second half consigned Newcastle, who finished the game with ten men due to Jacob Ramsey’s red card, to yet another defeat.
