Newcastle United player ratings slip to 3/10 as Coventry capitulation serves as major wake up call

Newcastle United suffered a walloping at the hands of newly promoted Coventry City on a tough night for Matthias Jaissle's side. The Magpies got off to a horrendous start as Lukas Hornicek upended Sidiki Cherif in the box with referee John Brooks pointing straight to the spot. Jack Rudoni stepped up and sent Hornicek the wrong way and Coventry held on to that lead until half-time after a series of wasted chances from the home side.
