Official: Milan confirm ‘successful’ Saelemaekers ankle surgery

The Belgian winger suffered an ankle injury in a training session at Milan during the international break. “AC Milan announces that Alexis Saelemaekers underwent surgery on his right ankle today in Amsterdam,” Milan said in a statement on Tuesday. “The arthroscopic debridement and stabilisation procedure, performed by Dr Gino Kerkhoffs in the presence of Dr Andrea Bulgheroni and Diego Mantovani from AC Milan’s medical staff, was successfully completed.” Saelemaekers is not expected to play again before 2027 as he’ll be sidelined for over three months.
