Orioles decline OF Robert's $20M club option for 2027

BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Orioles declined outfielder Luis Robert Jr .'s $20 million club option for 2027. The Orioles claimed Robert off waivers from the New York Mets on Aug. 31, assuming an obligation of roughly $4.9 million from the Mets -- the remainder of this year's salary plus a $2 million buyout of the 2027 option. The Chicago White Sox had picked up his $20 million option for 2026 before trading him to the Mets last offseason. Robert played only three games for the Orioles before landing on the injured list because of hamstring issues.
