'PTI' host Michael Wilbon stepping back indefinitely because of health issues

On Monday, Wilbon announced he will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from "PTI" and ESPN's NBA coverage because of health problems. Wilbon, who turns 68 on Nov. 19, suffered a minor heart attack in January 2008 but returned to the show shortly after undergoing surgery. He also has Type 2 diabetes. Dan Shanoff of The Athletic reported Pablo Torre or Frank Isola — both longtime substitutes for Wilbon — will fill in for him this week. Long-term plans are "still in development." "PTI" recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. Wilbon and Kornheiser have hosted it throughout its run.
