Rams cut ties with kicker Harrison Mevis after special teams disaster

NFL insider Ian Rapaport reported that the Rams are moving on from kicker Harrison Mevis on Tuesday. This comes one day after Mevis missed two critical field goals in the Rams’ 37-34 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. The 24-year-old missed a 50-year field goal attempt in the first quarter, then had a 48-yard field goal blocked in overtime that would have won the game. Mevis has been brutal through five games this season, as his 55.6% field goal percentage is dead last in the league.
