Roquan Smith stays defiant after Lamar Jackson surgery update casts pall over Ravens’ season

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson’s longtime quest to finally play in the Super Bowl was dealt a major blow after it was announced that he will undergo surgery for his thumb injury, which could end his season. Jackson sustained the thumb injury in the Ravens’ first snap against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The two-time MVP just recovered from an ankle injury, which sidelined him for three games. Baltimore lost to Buffalo, 36-10. It felt like fate played a cruel joke on Jackson. Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith, however, stayed defiant despite the frustrating development.
