Rory McIlroy explains his shock new golf outfit after turning heads on course

RORY MCILROY will pull on his ‘baggy trousers’, leave his driver and three wood in his hotel room, and try to take a big step towards a record-equalling eighth Race to Dubai title. McIlroy, 37, has decided to copy Ryder Cup partner Tommy Fleetwood’s switch to baggy pants at this week’s Indian Championship, saying flared trousers “allow a better air flow in the hot and humid conditions”. The double Masters champion also joked that he is eager “to keep up with the cool kids” – even though defending champion Fleetwood is only two years younger than him.
