Safety fears force AFC and Saudi organisers to push 2027 Asian Cup from January to December KO

November 3 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has rescheduled its blue riband men’s Asian Cup finals in Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5, 2027 to the end of the year. The proposal is to now play the 24-team finals from December 23, 2027 to January 21, 2028 due to “exceptional circumstances arising from developments in the region”.
