Skubal’s Record Deal Could Break White Sox Free Agency

The Chicago White Sox have a narrow window to fix their pitching, but the market is shifting beneath their feet. Tarik Skubal is likely to shatter every record for a pitcher with a deal worth eight years and $355 million, according to ESPN . That number is the average of 27 projections from insiders polled by Kiley McDaniel. It is a massive sum that could drain the payroll for years to come. The 2026-27 free agent class is considered one of the weakest in a decade.
