St Mary's end decade-long wait to win 12th Sligo title

St Mary’s are champions of Sligo for the first time since 2015 after a thrilling two-point defeat of Shamrock Gaels at Markievicz Park. Robert O’Kelly-Lynch’s goal after seven minutes and seven points from full-forward Nathan Rooney made the difference for St Mary’s, who were the better side throughout against last year’s champions. This was a special occasion for St Mary’s, with the Sligo town club looking to add to their 11 county titles in the year that they are celebrating 50 years in existence. St Mary’s were last champions in 2015 and previously contested the final in 2022.
