Steven Gerrard offers Lewis Koumas verdict as Andoni Iraola sent Liverpool message

Steven Gerrard believes Lewis Koumas showed against Manchester City that he should be part of the first-team squad at Liverpool. Koumas made his first Premier League start for the Reds against Enzo Maresca’s side at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. The 21-year-old led the line for Andoni Iraola’s side in the absence of Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak, supported by Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz . Koumas was replaced by Rio Ngumoha with 15 minutes remaining as his side were beaten 3-0 with all three goals coming after Ryan Gravenberch was sent off.
