Taft's Adelyn Miller, Sotomayor's Ilias Braxton repeat as cross country district champions

There's a point in long distance running where the mind and body come out of sync. The great runners find way to push through. That was the case for Taft junior Adelyn Miller and Sotomayor senior Ilias Braxton, who handled that adverse point to defend their individual titles at the District 29-6A cross country championships held Tuesday morning at the Northside Sports Complex. Miller won the girls championship in 19 minutes, 12.81 seconds on the 5,000-meter course. Braxton outkicked teammate Matthew Gomez to win the boys race over the same distance in 16:04.63. "I wasn't really feeling great," Miller said.
