Tennis star's sudden retirement weeks before planned farewell addressed by ITIA

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has confirmed that Gael Monfils has officially retired, just weeks before he was set to make his final appearance on the professional tour. At the end of last year, the former world No. 6 publicly announced that the 2026 season would be his last on the tour. He has played a limited schedule and was expected to say goodbye at next month’s Paris Masters, his home tournament.
