Tooreen dismantle Ballyhaunis to claim Mayo six in a row

Tooreen claimed a sixth successive Mayo SHC title with a resounding 15-point victory over rivals Ballyhaunis at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park. Ballyhaunis, who lost last year's decider by two points and the 2024 final after extra-time to the same opposition, came into the match buoyed by a huge semi-final win over St Ciarán's. Such confidence was quickly whittled away however in the October sunshine as Tooreen continued their winning streak against fellow East Mayo men, with David Delaney's two goals in as many first-half minutes paving the way for their latest success.
