Updating LSU football's FPI ranking after Tigers lose to Kentucky

A 35-34 overtime loss to Kentucky in Week 6 puts LSU football at 4-2 heading into another tough stretch of SEC games. Head coach Lane Kiffin and the Tigers play host on Saturday to No. 19 Mississippi State, which will be fresh off a bye week. Despite the crushing loss, LSU remains in the No. 8 spot on ESPN's football power index (FPI) ranking with a 20.9 rating. FPI uses expected point margin vs. average opponent on a neutral field to measure a team's true strength on a net points scale.
