The United States salvaged a 2-2 draw with Spain on Tuesday, three days after they lost to the women's World Cup champions in a pair of home international friendlies. Alexia Putellas and Salma Paralluelo scored five minutes apart in the first half for Spain at Subaru Park, home of Major League Soccer's Philadelphia Union. But Ashley Sanchez pulled back a goal shortly after the break and Mallory Swanson slammed in a US equalizer in the 86th minute.
