Watford manager gets rare vote of confidence amid intense sack pressure

Watford manager Alessio Dionisi will remain in charge for the Championship clash with Charlton on Saturday, talkSPORT understands. The Italian only joined the Championship club as head coach in June but faces increasing pressure after a poor start to the season. After a 2-1 victory over Southampton on the opening weekend, they have won just one match in the following eight. Tuesday night’s trip to Cardiff City was considered critical for Dionisi’s future – and the Hornets were thrashed. They were 4-0 down at half-time before ultimately succumbing to a 5-1 loss.
