Watford set to sack manager Alessio Dionisi and move on to fifth new boss of 2026

Watford are set to sack Alessio Dionisi, talkSPORT understands. The Italian only joined the Championship club as head coach in June but is already heading for the exit after a poor start to the season. After a 2-1 victory over Southampton on the opening weekend, they won just one match in the following eight. talkSPORT understands that their Tuesday night trip to Cardiff City was critical for Dionisi’s future. However, they were 4-0 down at half-time during their 5-1 loss, and the 46-year-old is set to be dismissed at Vicarage Road.
