Why Ace Austin stayed with Alabama women's basketball after coaching change

She had chances to leave this offseason after Kristy Curry left the program after 13 seasons leading the Crimson Tide . Austin's father, Ricky Austin, was hired at Jacksonville State, presenting her the chance to reunite with her high school coach and play just down the road from Spring Garden, where she starred at the prep level and for the program her mom and aunt's numbers hang in the rafters. But Austin is still at Alabama and part of the program's contingent at the SEC Tipoff in Birmingham on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
