Why are Atletico Madrid players wearing black armbands vs Man Utd as UEFA approve tribute

Atletico Madrid captain Jorge "Koke" Resurrección will miss Tuesday's Champions League match against Manchester United. He was ruled out of the squad following the sudden passing of his mother. The Spanish club confirmed that Koke's mother, Ana Merodio Borja, passed away early Tuesday morning in Madrid. However, Atletico Madrid did not publicly disclose the official cause of death. European football's governing body, UEFA, authorised a moment of silence to be held prior to kickoff at the Metropolitano Stadium. Additionally, the Atletico players will wear black armbands during the match to honour her memory.
