Why are there so few Premier League fixtures on Saturday

It will go from feast to famine for Premier League fans this Saturday. Top-flight supporters were treated to a rare jam-packed Saturday of action last weekend with eight games taking place. Chelsea got the day underway with a 2-0 win over Manchester United in the 12:30pm kick-off. Brighton, Coventry, Bournemouth and Brentford then picked up wins in the five-strong 3pm slate. Tottenham beat Crystal Palace at 5:30pm and Aston Villa and Fulham played out a 1-1 draw in the Saturday evening clash.
