Wings rally falls short in Tampa, 4-2

TAMPA — The Red Wings certainly didn't wither away after a lousy first period Tuesday, Nov. 3, against the Tampa Bay Lightning . J.T. Compher's power play goal, at 5:29 of the third period, sliced Tampa's lead to 3-2. Compher got open between the hashmarks and snapped a shot that eluded goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy, Compher's second goal. The Wings had two consecutive power plays in the period after Compher's goal but couldn't convert - they were 1-for-4 on the power play - with Vasilevskiy standing tall in net.
