World Darts Championship star releases statement after pulling out of major event

A World Darts Championship qualifier has picked Alexandra Palace over the Lakeside. Gemma Hayter made her debut on the Ally Pally stage last year, taking a set off Josh Rock in a 3-1 defeat. The Portsmouth thrower has booked a return trip to the famous north London venue via the PDC Women's Series. She also had the option of playing at the WDF Women's World Championship at the Lakeside, where she would have been one of the favourites to lift the trophy.
