World Series three-peat on the ropes for Dodgers as loss to Brewers leaves favorites on the brink of stunning postseason exit

The Los Angeles Dodgers edged closer to a remarkable exit from the postseason on Monday night after William Contreras guided the Milwaukee Brewers to a 2-0 lead in the National League Championship Series. Contreras hit a tying homer in the fifth and singled home the go-ahead run an inning later as the World Series favorites fell for the second straight game. Four relievers combined to retire the last 15 Dodgers batters in order to end Game 2 in this best-of-seven series, which heads to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Wednesday.
