Carlos Alcaraz conqueror shuts down Spaniard's Shanghai Masters complaints

Carlos Alcaraz became uncharacteristically frustrated during his third-round exit at the Shanghai Masters as he struggled to adjust to the conditions of the balls and the court. The courts have been sped up in Shanghai this year, though Alcaraz missed the tournament in 2025, and the Spanish star was left feeling exasperated as he suffered a 7-5 7-6(4) defeat to Zizou Bergs on Monday. Late in the opening set, he ranted towards his team and said it felt like one ball would bounce, and another would slip away. “I can’t play like this,” he exclaimed.
