Chelsea star Emi Martinez permanently disfigured from injury and still requires surgery

Emiliano Martinez has revealed he is still ‘playing with pain’ after refusing surgery on a broken finger to star at the World Cup. The Chelsea goalkeeper has only recently gone under the knife to correct a shattered jaw sustained during the 2-0 win away to Everton. However, Martinez has now confirmed he is still nursing an existing injury that plagued him throughout the World Cup this summer. The 34-year-old played every minute of the tournament for Argentina despite being in agonising pain while in North America.
