Clinton Prairie earns first football sectional title win over Central Catholic

FRANKFORT — The ball sat at the 1-yard line with 2:59 remaining in the third quarter. Central Catholic only trailed 20-14 against Clinton Prairie in the Class 1A, Sectional 42 championship game Friday, Nov. 6, and had an opportunity to take the lead with a score. Instead of taking it to the ground, the Knights went for a pass. Quarterback Dru Stapleton looked to his right and fired off a pass to receiver Joey Metzger, but outside linebacker Alex King was listening.
